Audio Described & Captioned screenings

GFT offers both Captions and Audio Description on selected titles and selected screenings. 

Captions

A service for D/deaf and hard of hearing audience members to enable understanding of the film’s dialogue and off-screen action. 

Captioning includes the text of all onscreen dialogue as well as off-screen sounds, enabling people with varying hearing loss access to the full cinema experience.

All captioned screenings are marked with a © on the event time slot.

We can offer Enhanced Audio (EA) headsets for people with varying hearing loss. Headsets are provided with earphones or can be customised for use with personal earphones. 

If you have any questions or would like to prebook a EA headset please contact a Duty Manager (0141) 332 6535 or email dutymanager@glasgowfilm.org. Your EA headset will be available to pick up from Box Office when you collect your tickets prior to the film screening.

Audio Description

Audio Description is a service for partially sighted or blind people providing an audio track of key visual descriptions. This track runs in time with the film's action.

We can provide Audio Description (AD) on selected titles via cordless headsets. Headsets are provided with earphones or can be customised for use with personal earphones.
