We have two fully licensed bars inside GFT. Currently, due to the distancing safety measures in place, only the Upper Bar is open. The Upper Bar, next to Cinema 1, is fully accessible and serves hot and cold drinks, a large variety of beer, wine and spirits, and cinema snacks including ice cream and popcorn. At GFT, you can take your drinks into the cinema.
The GFT Foyer and Bars were fully refurbished in 2016, bringing back the iconic butterfly staircase and redesigning the layout of the building. Refurbished downstairs toilets combined with space reclaimed from the old building meant we could replace the old kiosk with the new Lower Bar, providing additional capacity and accessibility. We also reclaimed space from beneath Cinema 1 to create a bigger Upstairs Bar and an additional seating space. This refurbishment included the installation of a lift to the Upstairs Bar, which was previously only accessible by stairs. The refurbishment project has allowed us to make the building more accessible, increase our capacity and help us achieve our goal of Cinema for All.
