From the director of Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché comes this powerful documentary about the bonds between people experiencing homelessness and their dogs, and how the devastating past 18 months of the Covid 19 pandemic impacted on them.

Over the course of a cataclysmic year, musician and DJ Simone Marie Butler follows Dogs on the Streets, a team of volunteers working to ensure the health and welfare of homeless dog owners and their canine companions, while helping them with getting off the streets for good.

Against the backdrop of a global pandemic that exposed how the most vulnerable people in our society are frequently forgotten, Year of the Dog examines the bond between street dogs and their owners to reveal how they have helped people through difficult times, and questions our understanding of how homeless people are seen – or unseen – by society.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director Paul Sng.
