World Cup fever is broken by summer romance in the Georgian city of Kutaisi, when a chance encounter between Lisa (Oliko Barbakadze) and Giorgi (Giorgi Ambroladze) leads to plans being made for a first date the following day. However the couple’s story is derailed before it can begin when they awake the next morning to find themselves magically transformed, with no way of recognising one another.
Set and beautifully shot in Kutaisi, one of Georgia’s oldest cities, the film follows the two as they grapple with this momentous change amongst the constantly unfolding joys of the perfectly mundane.
What do you see when you look at the sky? Aleksandre Koberidze asks us to look harder at the everyday world around us in this poignant tale of love at first sight gone wrong.
