Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale star as two stage magicians whose rivalry takes them to the pinnacle of fame, with terrible consequences.

As friends and magicians just starting to learn their art, Rupert Angier (Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Bale) become bitter enemies after a sudden tragedy. Now, as the two devote their lives to a rivalry played out on the London stage, the sacrifices each makes to continue an ever-more deadly cycle of revenge will lead to fame and to tragedy.

Christopher Nolan directs this mystery thriller, a tale of obsession and secrets, based on the award-winning best-selling novel by Christopher Priest, with a supporting cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, David Bowie, Michael Caine, Rebecca Hall and Andy Serkis.
