Featuring incredible starring performances from Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, Se7en was the film that made Hollywood sit up and take notice of David Fincher. A relentlessly shocking and incredibly crafted crime horror, it follows Somerset and Mills, two police detectives investigating a series of elaborately staged and extremely grisly murders. As the crime scenes are discovered over the course of one week, it becomes clear the murders are the work of a serial killer who targets his victims based on each of the seven deadly sins.
Screening in 35mm. Part of our David Fincher Cinemasters season.
Please note: Kevin Spacey appears in this film and we appreciate that the outstanding allegations of abuse against him make him a problematic figure for some audience members. While aware of this, we consider Se7en to be an essential title to screen in a season focused on David Fincher, due to its significance in establishing his style and its ongoing influence on cinema.
