Andrei Tarkovsky’s debut feature is a poignant and powerful story of war and revenge. In World War II, twelve-year-old Ivan loses his parents after Nazis attack his village. Seeking revenge the young boy joins the Soviet army as a scout and soon becomes indispensable due to his ability to go undetected through enemy lines. The missions get tougher and it is decided Ivan must take a step back, but after convincing the of cer in charge he is allowed to carry out one final expedition.
