Details

Invisible Life is the kind of sumptuous, heartrending melodrama that Douglas Sirk or Fassbinder might have proudly claimed as their own. Based on the novel by Martha Batalha, it begins in the Rio de Janeiro of 1950. Classical piano prodigy Euridice (Carol Duarte) dreams of studying at the Vienna Conservatory. It is her beloved sister Guida (Julia Stockler) who heads to Europe first when she elopes with a Greek sailor. Fate conspires to keep them apart as the sisters pursue very different paths believing the other to be half a world away. Thanks to New Wave Films
