Elisabeth Moss gives a blistering, tour-de-force performance in this searing portrait of a self-destructive rock star. Director Alex Ross Perry seems to take his cue from John Cassavetes, with his unsparing focus on grunge icon Becky Something, the front woman for ‘90s rock band Something. Wife, mother and supremely talented performer, she is at the very top of her game and the only way is down, through a hell of drugs, booze, fights, botched recording sessions and public meltdowns. A car crash of a life is rendered in blood, sweat, tears and heartrending pathos.
