Additional Information for Schools Screenings
We are really looking forward to welcoming your group to GFT. Watching film in a cinema is a great way to instigate conversations and learning back in the classroom or home and we carefully choose our films with this in mind. To make sure your group get the most out of their visit please consider the following FAQs:
COVID-19
Places are limited as we will still ensure distancing between school groups.
Please do not attend if anyone in your party is experiencing cold or flue symptoms.
We encourage mask wearing throughout the venue and ask that all accompanying adults wear masks when not seated.
Is this a provisional booking?
School bookings will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Though we reserve the right to refuse schools that make multiple bookings to ensure the maximum number of schools have access to the film screenings given our reduced programme.
Demand for our screenings is usually high so when you fill in the booking form, please ensure you have permission and resources in place to attend. Our screenings are very popular and can book up quickly, so to avoid slowing down the process for yourself and other schools please avoid making multiple bookings for shows you ‘may’ attend.
Only fill in the booking form if you wish to attend this show, once your booking is processed it will be held to our terms and conditions including our cancellation policies.
When will my booking be processed?
We aim to respond to all booking enquiries within 5 working days. Please allow this time before contacting our Box Office team.
What if the screening is sold out?
We do our best to accommodate all requests. If a screening is sold out our Box Office team will add you to our waiting lists and will contact you once seats become available. This can happen often so please take advantage by keeping an eye out for our Box Office email!
What if I need to cancel?
Should you cancel with less than two-weeks before the date of your screening there is a £50 cancellation fee.
Snacks & Food
Currently our bar remains closed during school screenings. Teachers are welcome to bring tea & coffee into the screenings and pupils are welcome to eat cinema-appropriate snacks i.e. crisps, and small sandwiches.
Please do not allow your pupils to consume food or drinks that create unreasonable amount of mess i.e. yoghurts, chewing gum.
Schools that leave an unreasonable amount of mess when exiting their screening or leave permanent damage to seats may be fined £50.
How do I organise payment for tickets?
If your screening requires payment all cheques should be made out to Glasgow Film Theatre.
Advance payments are welcome but if you chose not to pay in advance please bring your payment on the day of the screening. Please ensure all payments can be made in one transaction.
If you wish to reduce or cancel your seats your booking can be amended up to two weeks prior to the screening. After this point your booking is final and your payment must be for the number of seats booked.
