Image for French Film Festival

Welcome to the 27th edition of the French Film Festival, the UK’s only festival embracing French and Francophone cinema in all its diversity. We are delighted to be screening some of the most exciting new films from across the Channel, including Cannes award-winners On a Magical Night and Portrait of a Lady on Fire, as well as Bruno Dumont’s heavy metal musical about the life of Joan of Arc and Zabou Breitman and Éléa Gobbé-Mévellec’s beautifully animated tale of life in Afghanistan under Taliban control, The Swallows of Kabul. Much-loved Swiss classic The Salamander returns to the big screen, whilst documentaries Delphine and Carole and Gaultier - Freak & Chic explore central figures who have been instrumental in shaping French culture.

Mobile Film Festival

The French Film Festival UK continues its collaboration with the Paris-based Mobile Film Festival to present a selection of short films from France and all around the world. They all last just one minute and were shot on mobile phones (or tablets). One title will screen before select features in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow and elsewhere.

The theme of the 14th edition was human rights and has been organised in partnership with YouTube Creators for Change, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for human rights and the European Union. It was part of the celebrations last year of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
