In the 1970s, legendary actress Delphine Seyrig and director Carole Roussopoulos were two of the first video activists in France. They took the camera into their own hands, not only to document protests by the French women’s movement, but also to counter the dominant representation of women on TV and in the media. Featuring excerpts from feminist works by the video groups Les Insoumuses and Video Out, as well as from talk shows featuring Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras and Chantal Akerman among others, Calliso McNulty’s documentary chronicles how the two women fought for women’s rights, both off the screen and behind the camera.

A short film will screen alongside this film as part of the Mobile Film Festival.

Delphine and Carole reveals how far Seyrig took her commitment to the cause of women’s rights…
