From child TV and theatre star to later giving notable performances in films like The Sweet Hereafter (1997) and The Secret Life of Words (2005), Sarah Polley eventually made the successful transition from celebrated actor to filmmaker, having garnered an Oscar nomination for her 2006 directorial debut Away from Her, before directing the unconventional indie romance Take This Waltz (2011) and the heartwrenching documentary, Stories We Tell (2012).
To mark the release of the Canadian actor, writer and director's first feature in a decade -Women Talking - we are delighted to be screening a showcase of three of her most outstanding directorial features, as well as a special late night screening of 2004's Dawn of the Dead in which she gives a thrilling starring performance.
Presented in partnership with feminist collective Invisible Women. Programme notes by Invisible Women on the Sarah Polley season will be available in early February.
Tickets for the full season are on sale now, and links to the films and how to book are below.
