Cinemasters: Alejandro Jodorowsky

Alejandro Jodorowsky’s extensive career in avant-garde theatre in the 1940s and 1950s (he was also a puppeteer, circus clown and mime) was mirrored in his films. He is renowned for work that is filled with violently surreal images and a hybrid blend of mysticism and religious provocation and is considered the founding father of cult cinema when El Topo became a hit on the midnight movie circuit in the USA. We are delighted to be presenting three of his films (his rarely seen first film Fando and Lis, El Topo and The Holy Mountain) in newly restored 4K versions.
