Catalan Film Festival 2023

The Catalan Film Festival returns to Scotland from 21 January to 15 February 2023.

Explore award-winning Catalan features, short films, retrospectives, gastronomy screenings, workshops and special guests throughout Scotland coming to your local venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Online. It’s cold outside, but here’s a new wave of Mediterranean vibes to warm up your winter season.

Screenings coming to GFT include what for many cinephiles around the world was the most outstanding cinematic experience of the year, Albert Serra's Pacifiction - presented in Cannes Competition and crowned by Cahiers du Cinema as Best Film of 2022- and Isaki Lacuesta’s Berlinale Competition One Year One Night, in which European star duo Nahuel Pérez (120 BPM) and Noémie Merlant (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Tár) portray a couple that survived the Bataclan terror attacks in Paris.

Catalan Film Festival is run by Spanish & Latin American film collective CinemaAttic, with Institut Ramon Llull as principal sponsor and co-organiser. Festival partners include Screen Scotland, Estrella Damm, Catalan Films, Colla Castellera d’Edinburgh and Centre Català d’Escocia.
