Director Patrick Wang will be in attendance for a Q&A following this screening

The second film in Patrick Wang’s boldly inventive ensemble drama follows passionate arts advocates Dorothea (Tyne Daly) and her partner Greta (Elisabeth Henry-Macari) as they rehearse a production of Hecuba. The battle for the future of the bread factory is waged on different fronts finding an echo in the play’s themes of corruption and grief. A playful film, it sees art seeping into life as people burst into song, strangers break into their dance and one individual makes a personal connection to the power of drama. A wonderful, deeply moving triumph.

a tale of characters, dozens of them, all of whom have their passions and quirks and express themselves vigorously in sharp, insightful dialogue
