Now in its fourth year, the Young Scottish Filmmaker Prize is presented by Glasgow Film Theatre and Eden Court Highlands. The prize has been launched in partnership with the Glasgow Short Film Festival and was designed in consultation with GMAC Film. It celebrates filmmakers from across Scotland aged 18-25.
The competition offers prizes in two categories: firstly, films by filmmakers who have not received formal education, training or funding during the production of their film. And secondly, films by filmmakers who have completed a film with formal funding or support from a university, college or film organisation. A young jury of film fans and finalists from last year’s prize will decide on the winner of each category. The winners will be announced at the closing awards on Sunday 24 March.
The Young Scottish Filmmakers Prize is part of BFI Film Academy, supported by the National Lottery.
Followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers in attendance.
This programme has Descriptive Subtitles for accessibility. The Q&A will be BSL interpreted.Short FilmPT2HN/C 15+2025-03-22Young Scottish Filmmaker Prize"Young Scottish Filmmaker Prize"Showtimes
