U Are The Universe

Fans of Moon won’t want to miss this funny and surprisingly moving science-fiction drama centring on a lone astronaut seeking connection after being left with no home to return to. Space trucker Andriy (Volodymyr Kravchuk) is making a run to Jupiter, accompanied by his joke-telling right-hand robot Maxim (Leonid Popadko) when he receives bad news from Earth. A message suggesting he might not be as alone as he feared leads him to embark on a dangerous mission in search of connection. While Pavlo Ostrikov includes nods to Moon and Solaris, among others, he crafts a unique atmosphere of humour and heartache that pulls you into its orbit and keeps you there. A gripping watch made all the more remarkable by the fact it was shot during the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
