James McArdle stars in this comedy charmer as a Young Adult novelist and carer who finds his hands full when three mates ditch their mums with him for the weekend. We'll be welcoming James McArdle to GFT for a Q&A following the screening on Sunday 6 April at 4.20pm. Edward (James McArdle), a talented novelist on the cusp of literary success, is juggling his work with the responsibility of caring for his elderly mother, Alma (Fionnula Flanagan). As the excitement of a US book tour builds, he is suddenly faced with an unexpected twist — his three friends decide to take an impromptu Pride getaway to Spain, leaving their mothers in his care. Over a lively and chaotic weekend, Edward must navigate the balance between his rising career and caring for four eccentric, combative, and wildly different ladies. Winner of the BFI London Film Festival Audience Award, this uplifting comedy-drama follows an unlikely found family on an emotionally charged journey of self-discovery and acceptance. ------- Glasgow Film Club Please note our screening on Wednesday 16 April at 6.20pm will be a sliding scale payment screening followed by Glasgow Film Club — a monthly club to come and chat about film. Glasgow Film Club takes place after our Sliding Scale Screening (choose from paying £0, £2, £4, £6, £8, £10). Anyone who has seen the film, no matter what screening they go to, is welcome at Glasgow Film Club. It is a place for our audience to socialise and explore films in a way that is meaningful to them. Meet our Community Engagement Coordinator, Nicola Scott, in the GFT Foyer after the screening ends at 8.09pm and we will walk together to Garnethill Multicultural Centre, which is less than a five minute walk from GFT. This venue has stairs at the front of the building and level access from the rear of the building. The room and facilities are all on one level, including an accessible toilet.
