Description of image

A Quiet Place (2018, 15 - contains violence and sustained threat)

Unique horror film where a family must protect each other from terrifying monsters with hypersensitive hearing. A lack of sound and a lack of communication results in plenty of danger and an incredibly tense 90 minutes. Starring Emily Blunt and directed by her husband onscreen and off-screen, John Krasinski, the film is a low-budget horror with a strong concept behind it.

A Quiet Place is also a good example of casting actors whose own disability matches that of their character and makes for a great discussion on representation in film.

The resource focuses on the family dynamic, mise-en-scene and also looks at the sound design for the film.
