GFT bring in the new year with a selection of hotly anticipated new releases, including: the new film from GFT’s latest CineMaster Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Phantom Thread; Oscar-winning director Martin McDonagh’s brilliantly dark comic drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, starring Frances McDormand; Leviathan director Andrey Zvyagintsev’s award-winning Loveless; The Shape of Water from master storyteller Guillermo del Toro and Steven Spielberg’s timely new drama starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, The Post.

In January, a screening of new documentary Eric Clapton: Life in 12 Bars will be followed by satellite Q&A with director Lili Fini Zanuck and Eric Clapton; the UK Premiere of Suggs: My Life Story will be broadcast to GFT followed by a live satellite Q&A with director Julien Temple and Suggs; director Max Pugh will attend GFT for a Q&A following a screening of new documentary Walk With Me, profiling the world-famous monastery of Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhât Hanh, and presented in association with Celtic Connections and Glasgow Film Festival, The Groove Is Not Trivial at GFT will be followed by a Q&A with expert fiddler Alasdair Fraser.

Glasgow Film Festival 2018

One of the UK’s largest film festivals, GFF 2018 will showcase bold emerging talent from the Baltics and Ireland, whilst the return of its ever-popular free morning retrospectives will toast some of Hollywood’s most smouldering Rebel Heroes. Other screenings already announced include The Big Lebowski - A Night of Bowling and GFF School Disco: Gregory’s Girl vs Clueless at SWG3. Glasgow Film Festival takes place 21 February – 4 March. The full programme will be revealed on Wednesday 24 January.
