A life-saving donation

Donor Eileen Carroll and Glasgow Film Chair Denise Mina

47 years ago Eileen Carroll’s dad, Jack Littman, had a heart attack aged just 50 and died at The Cosmo cinema, now the GFT.

Without immediate treatment, 90 - 94% of cardiac arrests prove fatal, so Eileen made it her mission to make sure that we have a defibrillator in our cinema to prevent any future tragedies. She set up a Just Giving fundraising page and ran 5k three times a week during the month of October to raise enough funds to purchase a new defibrillator from St Andrews First Aid.

Eileen surpassed her fundraising target and our defibrillator was installed in the building earlier this week in memory of Jack.

Congratulations Eileen on your successful fundraising and huge thanks for your generosity, which will ensure that we can help save lives in our cinema and community.
