This resource focuses on Moonlight, a coming of age film about a young black man coming to terms with his identity and sexuality.

Moonlight (2016, 15)
Written and directed by Barry Jenkins, Moonlight follows the life of Chiron as he navigates childhood, adolescence and then adulthood as a young gay black man. The film is told in three distinct sections with a different actor playing Chiron at different ages. With amazing performances by Mahershala Ali, Janelle Monae and Naomie Harris, this is a fantastic film for those studying Media or studying film in English.
This resource contains questions on characterisation, representation, use of colour, and production design.
This film is a certificate 15 with strong language, sex, sex references, and drugs misuse.
