Programmed by 15-19 year olds, GYFF is one of the most innovative film festivals in Europe

Glasgow Youth Festival began in 2009 as part of Glasgow Schools Week, within Glasgow Film Festival. Over the past 10 years, the festival has grown to occupy a weekend of its own.

Over the past decade, the festival has seen a number of high-profile titles in the programme including: Taika Waititi’s Boy and The Muppets in 2011; Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph in 3D in 2013; Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises in 2014; The Witch in 2016, and much more, alongside cult classic favourites like Mean Girls and Edward Scissorhands.
