Getting to Venue

  • There are 4 accessible spaces to the left of The National Piping Centre. These are owned and operated by Glasgow City Council. They are taken on a first come first served basis and it’s free to park there on a Sunday.
  • A drop-off point is at the main entrance.
  • The nearest car park is Dundasvale car park - 8 Dundasvale Ct, Glasgow G4 0LR. Providing 460 spaces, open 24 hours. The car park is situated near Cowcaddens underground station.
  • The nearest subway is Cowcaddens SPT. This is a 3-minute (0.1 mile) accessible walk to the Piping Centre. www.spt.co.uk/subway
  • The 6 (East Kilbride Calderwood – Clydebank) and 6A (Glasgow –Drumchapel) buses stop directly opposite The National Piping Centre.
  • There is on-street parking in the area and several large car parks: Dundasvale, Cambridge Street and another at Concert Square - all within a few minutes’ walk. 
  • The venue is very close to Cowcaddens subway station, a 5-minute walk. This will give you easy access to and from the West End and Southside of the city.
  • The venue is a 6-minute walk from Glasgow's main bus depot, Buchanan Bus Station.
  • This venue is near to both of Glasgow's main railway stations at Queen Street and Central Station. It's a 10-minute walk to each from the venue. TransPennine Express offer a handy guide to visiting Glasgow by train, or visit National Rail.

Venue Access:

  • There are 2 entrances to the building. The National Piping Centre door is for events.
  • There are 8 steps up to the front entrance from street level. There is a handrail.
  • A lift is available from street level to any floor within The National Piping Centre at the side entrance on Maitland Street. A member of staff would assist.
  • The entrance doors do not open automatically.
  • There is a curved staircase leading to the event space. 

Inside the Venue:

  • All doors, entrances and corridors are wide enough for wheelchairs, walking frames and pushchairs.
  • All corridors are well lit and level throughout.
  • There are two accessible unisex toilets within the building.
  • There is a lift that can be accessed by speaking to a staff member. A staff member will escort guests to the preferred level.
  • The event space is wheelchair accessible.
  • A hearing loop system will be available.
  • Guide dogs are welcome.

Where the Event is Taking Place:

  • Seating will be available
  • There will be a light wooden floor.
  • Lighting will be bright. When the film is on, lights will be kept on low.
  • The venue is well ventilated
