Euan's Guide


Getting to the Venue

  • The nearest public car park is Cambridge Street Car Park, Cambridge Street, Glasgow, G3 6RU which has 9 accessible spaces. These are marked Blue Badge bays. Blue Badge holders may park free of charge and without limit. There is on-street pay and display parking on Renfrew Street, which is free after 6pm. Outside of peak times (0800 - 0915 and 1615 - 1800) blue badge holders may park in these for free. Dedicated disabled parking spaces are also available at the rear of the Renfrew Street building and can be accessed via Hope Street.
  • There is no dedicated drop off point. Vehicles can drop off in the streets around the venue.
  • The nearest train station is Glasgow Queen Street Station and Glasgow Central Station. The venue is a 10 minute walk (approx 0.6 miles) from either station. 
  • The nearest underground is Cowcaddens. Then venue is a 4 minute walk (approx 0.2 miles) away. This underground is not accessible to wheelchair users.
  • The closest bus stops are on Renfrew Street and on Hope Street, 1 minute walk away and are served by various bus routes (including 6, 6A, 18, X1, X1A, 3, 15, 68 and M3)


Venue Access

  • The main entrance to RCS is on Renfrew Street. 
  • There is level access to the ground floor of the Royal Conservatoire at the main entrance on Renfrew Street and the Hope Street entrance. The main wheelchair access point is at the Hope Street entrance.
  • The outside pavement is flush with the entrance to the building at the Hope

  • The entrance  doors open automatically
  • There is stair free access to the venue
  • There are accessible lifts serving all floors


Inside the Venue 

  • Accessible unisex toilets with emergency call buttons are available on
    Ground Floor (Level 1) and 1st Floor (Level 2)
  • There is no bar for the events at this venue
  • The venue is fitted with an induction loop. Patrons who are hard of
    hearing and fitted with a hearing aid should use their T-switch
  • Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome.


Where the event is taking place

  • All events will take place in the Fyfe Lecture Theatre
  • Seating is available in the event space
  • The flooring is brown wood in some areas, and blue carpeting in others
  • The venue will be lit at medium level throughout the event
  • The venue is well ventilated.
