Following our 2017 foray into virtual reality and 360˚ video, GSFF has joined forces with UWS Immersive and digital studio ISO Design to bring to Glasgow the latest in VR experiences from across the globe.
Unlike traditional two-dimensional films, the virtual world invites audiences to move, interact and feel their way through an experience. So powerful in fact can the experience be, that participants can begin to question the very nature of what they encounter. The VR Cinema presents three works, including a journey into a copy of our world, exploring real-life stories inside China’s replicas of Paris, Venice and London, and an affecting work about an entrepreneurship scheme for inmates of a US prison. Collectively, the works in this programme explore questions of reality and unreality as they are currently exhibited and experienced within the virtual world.
