The Kings Cross Steelers were the world’s first gay rugby team. Twenty-five years on, they are heading to Amsterdam for the world gay rugby tournament,The Bingham Cup. Eammon Ashton-Atkinson’s uplifting documentary follows the fortunes of the club but finds its heart in the individual stories of the players and lesbian head coach Nic Evans. They combine into a rousing celebration of overcoming prejudice, fighting stereotypes, finding friendship and discovering a place that feels like home. Who says you can’t be an ace rugby player and a fabulous drag queen?

This screening includes a Q&A with Writer and Director Eammon Ashton Atkinson and Participant Simon Jones.
