Arrow Video FrightFest marks its 15th year as part of the Glasgow Film Festival by staying true to its mission statement issued at their very first London event in 2000. Back then, the industry was staring into the digital revolution abyss. But far from being in terminal crisis, the art form mutated into an exciting panorama of trends with changes in gender perception, production business models, distribution ingenuity and exhibition multi-platforms. FrightFest led the way by bringing the constantly evolving genre to a whole new intrigued audience, fuelled by fan communities and a growing global enthusiasm for the transgressive, traumatic and terrifying. Welcome to another banner FrightFest and accept our invitation to explore the horror fantasy genre’s fertile harvest; bursting with creativity, imagination and difference in a world that often seems hostile to all three. Enjoy a curated selection of 14 new films from around the world, guaranteed to offer a much-needed cinematic sanctuary.

FrightFest weekend passes available from 20 January at noon.

Full programme released 29 January 2020.
