The screening on 27 February will be followed by a Q&A with director Henry Blake.
Inspired by the stories he heard while mentoring kids at an East London pupil referral unit, writer/director Henry Blake’s powerful, haunting debut confronts the harsh realities of modern Britain. Fourteen year-old Tyler (exceptional newcomer Conrad Kahn) has been excluded from school. He is soon groomed as a drugs courier, travelling across ‘county lines’ for local ‘entrepreneur’ Simon (Harris Dickinson). A cycle of debt and exploitation unfolds in which Tyler’s mother Toni (Ashley Madekwe) struggles to save him from becoming collateral damage in a ruthless drugs trade.
