Pitched between the worlds of Greta Gerwig and Eric Rohmer, Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet’s debut feature is an elegant delight. Anaïs Demoustier plays a young woman careering through life with little thought to her future. Her thesis is unfinished, her rent is overdue, her relationship is on the rocks – but nothing can rain on her parade. A chance encounter with successful writer Emilie (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) sparks a slow-burning flirtation that promises to catch fire and become something more meaningful. A witty, romantic tale that feels as light and refreshing as a summer’s breeze.
This film is also screening online via Glasgow Film At Home.
