Set It Off

When four best friends Frankie (Vivica A. Fox), Tisean (Kimberly Elise), Cleo (Queen Latifah), and Stony (Jada Pinkett) find themselves in a financial bind, they need to come up with a way to make money - and fast. With disguises and getaway cars, a plan to rob banks is born, going to great lengths to beat the systems that have worked against them, all while law enforcement is hot on their trail. Set It Off is a beloved 1990s cult classic, reclaiming and transcending the male dominated heist film genre by centring the unshakable bond between women. Screening as part of Call to Action, a mini season presented by Reclaim the Frame within Art of Action – a major UK-wide celebration of big screen action done for real, focusing on the actors and stunt performers risking life and limb to create some of the most memorable on-screen action, supported by National Lottery and BFI Film Audience Network. ----- Year of Celebration Film - Donate £50 at checkout 2024 marks 85 years since our cinema (originally the Cosmo) was built, 50 years since GFT was founded and the 20th edition of Glasgow Film Festival.
