Our Queer Cinema Sundays screening for January brings a rare chance to see Xavier Dolan’s Matthias & Maxime, a great film that fell between the cracks during its UK release, going straight to streaming at the height of the COVID pandemic in the summer of 2020. After the film, the team behind The Skinny's film podcast The CineSkinny – Anahit Behrooz, Ellie Robertson, Jamie Dunn and Peter Simpson – will join the Queer Cinema Sundays audience to take part in a discussion about the film, Dolan and some of the other notable new queer auteurs this century who explore desire, repression and queer lives in similarly raw, challenging and nuanced ways.

Year of Celebration Film - Donate £50 at checkout
2024 marks 85 years since our cinema (originally the Cosmo) was built, 50 years since GFT was founded and the 20th edition of Glasgow Film Festival.
Whilst our box office and bar sales only cover around 50% of our annual costs and help keep the film reels rolling, we rely on donations and fundraising to run our education and community activities. We need your help!
Celebrate 50 years of GFT by donating £50 at checkout. A £50 donation also secures your seat at our special January screening. Find out more or donate HERE. Your contribution matters.Matthias & Maxime + discussion showing at: January 26, 2:00 pm
