Preceded by a recorded introduction from director Juho Kuosmanen and DepicT! Award-winning film Living (UK 2016, 1m44s) by director Ben Mankin.

Juho Kousmanen’s feel-good, award-winning debut feature is a charming tribute to modest, unassuming boxer Olli Mäki (Jarkko Lahti). In 1962, Mäki carried the hopes of the nation as he trained for a Helsinki showdown with American Davey Moore, the bantamweight champion of the world. Mäki is feeling the pressure, a situation only exacerbated by his growing romance with Raija (Oona Airola). What price is glory, when love decides to pay a call?

When you buy a ticket to any screening of The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki at GFT online you'll be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a year long subscription to MUBI.
