GFF 2017 Programme

Industry Focus returns in 2017 with a host of new opportunities to meet collaborators, pitch projects and learn from film experts.

Industry Focus takes place 22-24 February at venues across Glasgow with opportunities for filmmakers of all levels.



Highlights of GFF Industry Focus 2017 are below but we’ve created Roadmaps to help navigate through the industry programme. Check out the Roadmaps for new filmmakers, writers and directors and producers.

Keynotes and In Conversations

We have 3 keynote sessions at the festival. Christine Vachon producer of Carol, Still Alice and Boys Don't Cry discusses her 20 year career producing independent film, Chris Young of Young Films producer of The Inbetweeners and Bannan talks about his new screenwriting programme and IPS interview executives of BBC Films, BFI, Creative Scotland and Film4 about film financing in Scotland.

2017 GFF Finance Forum

Glasgow Film Festival’s hub of industry activity will see projects pitched to UK and international funders and offers filmmakers the chance to meet with funders, distributors and sales agents and serves as an opportunity to learn more about the current funding landscape.

Narrative

A day of talks for directors and writers in collaboration with Directors UK focusing on the craft of storytelling from expert filmmakers.

Workshops

We have 3 workshops at GFF in 2017. Directing with Simon Phillips, Script development with Euroscript and the second Film Producer Accelerator workshop.

Filmmaker Speed Dating

Whatever your role or experience in film production we want to help you make connections and put you in touch with people who can help you get projects off the ground. 

Works in Progress

This invite only event will be a screening of 3 films currently in development.

Foot in the Door

There’s a host of opportunities for new and student filmmakers in Scotland and this is the perfect opportunity to learn how they can help you.
