Volunteering at GFF18

Recruitment for volunteer positions is now open!

Glasgow Film Festival is now entering its 14th year. In 2017 we screened films from 38 different countries with over 65 UK premieres from mainstream crowd-pleasers to groundbreaking art house experimentation. Attracting over 41,000 admissions, we are the fastest growing international-standard film festival in the UK. Last year the GFT also recorded its busiest week ever with over 12,500 people attending in just seven days.

And we couldn’t do it without you!

We rely on friendly faces to generate a welcoming atmosphere in our Festival venues and at our events and parties. Whether you’re a film buff with free time on your hands or are looking to break into a new career – there are many ways you can get involved!

Why volunteer?

Benefits include:

  • Improved understanding of festival delivery and event management
  • Chance to see festival films for free
  • Get to meet new people and mingle with festival guests
  • Opportunity to get to know different venues around Glasgow
  • Improved interpersonal skills
  • Fun new experiences

Volunteer duties are generally 4-6 hours long, though they can vary depending on the role applied for and the programme for that day. Your help may be required for anything between 2-8 hours. All schedules will take your availability into consideration.

To apply, please consider carefully which of the positions below interest and suit you best. Please be aware that there are limited vacancies for some of the roles so we recommend selecting a few you may be interested in.

The deadline for all applications is 23:59 on Sunday 14 January. Interviews will take place Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January and there will be training for your role pre-festival, dates for which are TBC.

We’re also recruiting for Glasgow Short Film Festival taking place in March. Let us know in the application form if you’d like to be involved with this too.

Please follow the link at the bottom of the page if you wish to apply.
