Glasgow Film Festival is one of the leading UK film festivals. Our audience is central to our programming and our ethos – we aim to enable our audiences to experience the best international cinema. GFF programme regularly features: new local and international film from all genres; mainstream crowd-pleasers to groundbreaking art-house experimentation; the return of well-loved classics alongside rare cult gems; with filmmaker guest appearances, interactive workshops and discussion panels to complete the mix!
What really separates this festival from others is the way in which everyone is made to feel part of the party.
Our popular Special Events are of legendary status: from coming-of-age classic Dazed and Confused with retro pre-movie roller disco, to Bowie's iconic turn The Man Who Fell to Earth screened among the cosmos at Glasgow Science Centre Planetarium via an unforgettable screening of Con Air at a Secret Location - expect the unexpected! Crossing the Line is our artist and the moving image programme, celebrating filmmakers who experiment with form and content to create new ways of experiencing the moving image. Crossing the Line is world-renowned and home to our Margaret Tait Award. Celebrating Scotland’s brilliant, booming music scene, Sound & Vision presents the very best of sonic cinema – music documentaries, live performance, exhibitions and specially-commissioned soundtracks. All this and more, from the vibrant and creative city of Glasgow!
